Most people don’t associate 7-Eleven with cashing checks. 7-Eleven is more than a typical gas station and convenience store. They cater to their customers and provide various needs.
An added convenience they provide is cashing a check at their locations. Keep reading to find out how to cash a check at 7-Eleven stores.
How to Cash a Check at 7-Eleven
You may not be able to cash a check in the traditional sense at 7-Eleven. This doesn’t mean you cannot take a check in and get access to the money.
While it isn’t the traditional method like going to the bank and cashing a check using your bank account, the same preface can be done at 7-Eleven.
Transact Cards
You can’t walk in and hand your check to the cashier in exchange for cash. You can, however, obtain a transact card to perform this function.
First, you have to obtain a transact card. You can do this here.
Once you have a card, the services that are offered include direct deposit and online check transactions. If you have a direct deposit set up with your employer, the money can go right to the card. Otherwise, if you get a check, you can use the mobile app to scan the check and upload the money into your account and card immediately.
After you upload the money, you can then withdrawal it at a 7-Eleven ATM.
So, while the process isn’t as easy as handing a check to the clerk, you can still get money for your check at 7-Eleven.
The Types of Checks You Can Cash
Here are the types of checks this service allows you to upload and cash.

Fees
The fees associated with transact cards are very minimal. You don’t even need a bank account to have the card. Additionally, the fees are cheaper than what they would be at a bank.
The card itself is free. It only costs $2.95 for a replacement. Money deposits are free.
Using the ATMs in 7-Elevens is free. Allpoint Network ATMs are free. Other ATMs have a fee of $2.50.
Additional fees are that you get charged each time you use your card to make a purchase. Each purchase running your card as credit is $1.00. Each purchase running your card as debit is $2.00. These fees can add up if you use the card as a debit or credit card often.
Alternatively, you can call and request to be put on the FeeAdvantage Plan. This plan lets you pay a one-time charge of $5.00 per month. This option is best if you use your card to make multiple purchases in a given month.
